I plan to replace my damaged T450s screen. The original screen model type is LP140WF3-SPD1 (LG brand, FHD IPS anti-glare non-touch). There is alternative AUO screen supported but I prefer the LG because the AUO tends to have backlight bleeding as some people said.

I heard about issue about brightness control doesn't work in Windows after replacing screen on lenovo laptops. I read it's because of there is whitelisting in the bios.
In order to avoid the brightness issue, should I order LP140WF3-SPD1 screen directly from lenovo? or can I just order from any sellers (like from ebay or aliexpress) as long as it is same LP140WF3-SPD1 model?
Lenovo G580 Brightness Control Not Working
Update:
I heard there is a thing called lenovo FRU number for the machine parts, like for the LP140WF3-SPD1 screen on T450s, the FRU is 04X5916. So I wonder could that mean there are two type of LP140WF3-SPD1 out there?
So the one with lenovo FRU is the only one that is approved in the whitelist thus won't cause brightness control issue ? Am I right or wrong about this?

The function keys consist of a single 'Fn' key and the 'F1' through 'F12' keys. Both Microsoft Windows and the ThinkPad itself assign specific operations to function keys. The 'Fn' key acts as a modifier, which changes the role of a function key when pressed. For example, 'F5' refreshes the page in a browser window, but 'Fn-F5' toggles the wireless radio on and off. The function keys allow you to perform quick actions without needing to click through numerous screens in Control Panel. You can enable a 'Fn' key lock feature so that you don't have to hold down the key each time to engage the function keys. The process varies according to your ThinkPad model.
Step 1
Click 'Start | All Programs | ThinkVantage | ThinkPad Configuration.' Select 'Accessibility Options' from the left pane or click the 'Accessibility' button.
Step 2
Select 'Enable' next to Fn Key Lock and then click 'OK.'
Step 3
Press 'Fn' once and then push the appropriate function key to toggle through the available options, or press 'Fn' twice to disable the Windows assignments. For the remainder of your session, you won't need to press 'Fn' to enable the ThinkPad hotkeys.
Step 1
Turn on or restart the ThinkPad and then press the 'F1' key when the IBM logo appears onscreen.
Step 2
Use the directional keys to highlight 'Config' and then press 'Enter.' Select 'Keyboard/Mouse' and then press 'Enter.'
Step 3![]()
Scroll down to 'FN Key Lock.' Press 'Enter,' select 'Enabled,' and press 'Enter' again.
Step 4
Press 'F10' to save and quit. Boot to the operating system. Press 'Fn' once to activate the hot keys; press 'Fn' twice to switch to the ThinkPad function keys for the rest of your session.
